Our Story
Alma y Raíz was born from the deep knowing that too many families - navigate pregnancy, birth, and parenting without the care, respect, or resources they deserve.
As a bilingual, Latina social worker, doula, and perinatal mental health provider from Washington Heights, I witnessed firsthand how systems often fail the very people thy claim to serve. I've walked alongside families who were unheard in medical spaces, workers who were denied time to heal, and parents who carried their joy and pain in silence.
I started Alma y Raíz to create the kind of care I wish more people had access to- care that is grounded, culturally responsive, trauma informed, and rooted in community.
The work isn't just professional - it's personal. It comes from my family's journey and the belief that healing begins when we are seen, affirmed and supported.
